After a morning hike up at Rattlesnake Ridge, I decided to take a picture of my physical achievement. I tried to frame the cliff with the surrounding trees. I transferred the picture to black and white in photoshop and adjusted a few brightness and contrast levels. I tried my best to define the shadows because in black and white photography; lines, texture, lighting and shadows are mandatory to pay attention to.

I love the definition of shadows, I think you did an excellent job. I also like how the ridge is framed by the outcropping trees creating kind of a sparse border. The black and white gives it a kind of old fashioned photograph look that isn’t cheesy like most in this case.
This picture is amazing. I think the black and white suits it well and gives it more feeling. I love the trees surrounding the ridge. It makes you focus in on the horizon.

What I like about this photo is that it is in black and white. The element of composition being used is the use of a border. I think the focus is great.
