Reflecting on Thoughts

On a trail through the park, I found this spot and thought it would be great for a picture. I had my best friend, Kaitlyn, sit on the other side of the pond. Reflections in pictures are something I’ve always been a fan of and I’m glad I captured that in this picture. It looks as if she is contemplating something which I think goes perfect with the surroundings.

Prom

I took this picture of my two best friends Claudia and Dillon the night of our prom. I like this picture because it is a spur of the moment pictures and I think the best kinds of pictures there are, are spur of the moment pictures. I love her dress and his tux looks nice, and so does this picture.

My car

This is a car I decorated with 3D paint. I took pictures of it and I played with the lighting on photoshop.

(way to elaborate, Victoria...)

Crosswalk

I took this picture at an intersection on Meridian. I used a long exposure to get both the cross and do not cross sign. It took me a long time to capture because people kept driving in front of my camera. Eventually I got the picture and I think it turned out pretty well.

Famous Photographer

Alyssa neglected to tell us this was her photo
Looking at this photo on my camera made it seem bland and normal. When I pulled it up into Photoshop I was very intrigued quickly. I love the way the actress is in perfect view wail her fellow performers are waiting to get their make-up checked as well. The fact that all of the people in the photograph are not even acknowledging the fact that they are being photographed makes this picture great. In the moment photographs show who the person really is and it reveals how everyone was ready for a great performance that night.

Sun between the branches

By: Jenny B.

The lighting experiments, such as back, side, and front light, were probably the most challenging assignment I had this year. It was really hard finding the specific light for each category. I think this photo best demonstrates the back light because you can really see the light peering through the branches and the tree is very dark. This assignment showed me that with the right light pictures can turn out really beautiful.

Out My Front Door

This is a picture I took to put in my photo portfolio as something the friends in the class and others hadn’t seen yet. I used the “Cutout” effect in Photoshop, and I wanted it to look art like. The effect really shows the lighting I had for it.

Wind Up

Katie neglected to tell us this was her photo
This photo was taken for my photo journalism. I was using burst mood on the camera to try and get a good action shot. In photo shop I changed the darkness and contrast before turning it from RGB color to grayscale.

A day at the park

I was at the park with my sister and my cousin over the weekend and I took this picture because we were so close. I really like the way it turned out.

Seattle!

I took this picture at folk life for my traveling Washington assignment. I like the clouded over background and the hedge that is covering the bottom of the space needle. I worked really hard to get the right angle and for it not to be blurred.

(Elizabeth... this was turned in late)

A Friday Afternoon

Description: This was one of my final prints for my outside portraits assignment. I had a little bit of a challenge finding positions and spots to place my friend Tiana. Thankfully I came through in the end and found some good places to position her and capture the moments of laughter and genuine personality. I adjusted the colors and contrast, some raw editing along with levels to brighten it up and sharpen it more.

A Spring Flower

I took this picture while taking environmental portraits of my brother. He put this flower into our pond and it started to sink. I quickly snapped a picture and I really liked how it turned out. The bubbles are from the fountain part of the pond and I thought that it added to the picture.

Cat in the hat

I took this picture of the cat and the hat because I had the hat for my grab bag assignment and I saw the cat there and thought why not take a picture of the cat with the hat?! I like this picture because the hat is not in focus and the cat is in focus, but the hat still looks good and visible. I also like how the cat looks like it is prowling and on the hunt for the hat.
