Crosswalk

I took this picture at an intersection on Meridian. I used a long exposure to get both the cross and do not cross sign. It took me a long time to capture because people kept driving in front of my camera. Eventually I got the picture and I think it turned out pretty well.

I really like the creativity in this one. Long-shutter-speed traffic pictures are nothing new, but you put your own spin on it by including both of the walking signs, so I applaud you for that. The lighting /white balance is also great, too, with the bright signs and traffic lights counteracting the darkness of night. The lines from the headlights also nicely follow the rule of thirds, with the walk signs near one of the third-lines, as well.

I really enjoy this photograph for a lot of reasons. There is a really good tonal range with the darkness of the night offsetting the white on the sidewalk and the walk sign. There is also an excellent use of leading lines that brings the eyes to the center of interest. The focus is sharp, and gives off the mood of peace and calmness.
