Sun between the branches

By: Jenny B.

The lighting experiments, such as back, side, and front light, were probably the most challenging assignment I had this year. It was really hard finding the specific light for each category. I think this photo best demonstrates the back light because you can really see the light peering through the branches and the tree is very dark. This assignment showed me that with the right light pictures can turn out really beautiful.

I really like the photo because it reminds me of the early mornings of school. The lighting is the center of focus in the picture because it causes part of the tree to disappear. The depth of field is not as short as it seems. The trees in the background are in somewhat focused making it a very nice use of depth of field. The thing I would critique on this photo is that the center of interest is taken away a little bit by the building and trees being in the background.
