Chocolate chip cookies!

I chose this picture because, so far this year, it’s my best. I like how close up it is of the cookies, and how it gives you a craving. I also like the shining of the light on the cookies, and how there are some cookies in the front and back so it gives it depth.

It Speaks for Itself

This is a picture I took of my friend Dan. I really like the way his eyes are looking. I took the picture in color and then adjusted the hue after I made it black and white. Then I colored in his ribbon. I think the ribbon really makes it stand out, and gets the meaning of the picture across. I love how it turned out.

Griffin

I took this photo of my younger cousin at a family birthday party. He was listening intently to the people around him. I wanted to capture how focused he was on hearing what his cousin had to say. The only effects I used on this picture were changing the brightness and contrast as well as adding a cooling filter. I did so to play down some of the orange tones in the original picture. Overall I was satisfied with the final outcome of the photograph.

Latte

This photo I took was for a project in my photo 2 class. It was to make a recipe and I chose to do a latte from my work. All I did was set the cup on the table and focused on the cup. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. If I was to change anything about the photo, I would have had the right side of the cup not so bright and a little more focused.

Water Drops

I took this picture in Switzerland this summer. While I was there I took a lot of pictures of the various plants I had never seen before, but this one was my favorite because the water drops in the center are in such sharp focus. I have not edited this photo at all.

Ghost kitty

By: Courtney B.

I really like this picture. I was playing around with my baby kitten, she was playing really cute. So I decided to get my camera out and take pictures of her playing. When I took this picture she was in the middle of moving and she looked like a ghost. I thought it was really cool because she was looking into the camera while she moved.

A Crisp September Morning

By: Kimmy J
On my way to school, I was captivated by the vivid colors of the sunrise. To capture the natural colors and beauty of the sunrise, I set the exposure at -2. I also tried it at -1 and 0 but the colors did not turn out as bright as those in the actual sky. I wanted to capture the silhouette of the trees along the bottom of the photo to create more depth to the photo. I don’t think it would’ve turned out as well if it had just been a picture of the sky during sunrise. The only changes I made were adjusting the Brightness/Contrast on this photo and using the clone tool to edit out a spot. Other than that, this is how it turned out. If I could do it again I would’ve brought along a tripod so I could’ve used aperture priority to let in more of the sun’s light. But for the most part, I really happy with how it turned out.

Sunny Days

I was doing an assignment for photo two, and took this looking up into the trees’ with the sunshine shining through. I like how you can really see the sun rays through the trees. The color is balanced and didn’t turn out with a yellow tint, and it’s in clear focus.
