Rainy Day

This picture was a result of my Faceless Portraits assignment. It has been raining continuously so I had the great idea of having my friend, Annie Guthrie, stand in the rain with an umbrella. It worked our very well and I got quite a few good pictures like this but I liked this the most because it looks like she’s waiting to be picked up. And I like how the ground was still wet from the rain so it worked out even better.

I love this picture! It’s original but not at the same time. Great lighting, I like the positioning of the girl also. Great job!

I really like this photo. I think it would look better if you made the whole picture desaturated and made the umbrella the only color. I also believe that if you chose a different angle of the girl her legs would not look so awkward.

I really like this photo! It's neat how the dreary lighting makes the bright pink umbrella really stand out. I also like how you can't see the subjects face. It adds an air of mystery to the photo. It makes me think, 'Who is she waiting for?' Very nice! ^~^

I like this picture I think it's really cute. I also like the color of the umbrella with all the grayish colors. It would have been nice if there was a different background, because this one is kind of busy and distracts from the subject of the pictures.

This picture is very interesting. Although the girl's legs look a little on the awkward side, it's different. I love how the colors of the background and the girl's clothing really make the pink of the umbrella stand out. Well done!

I like this photo and think it is a very clever idea for faceless portraits. The color and lighting go great together, and really emphasize the subject of the picture. It creates a mood of cheerfulness on a rainy day.

I really like this picture, it looks like something that could be found in a magazine! I do think something could have been done with the color to make everything come together more.. But over all, cool picture and good job/idea. -JH, SPHS

I think that this photo is absolutely adorable. I think the photo is more interesting because the girl is not standing straight up and down; the angles compliment the picture. The neutral colors were a smart idea since the umbrella is hot pink. Everything works well, and this is a great photo!

I really like the collection of mostly calm and subtle colors, like the grays and greens, with the sudden splash of the bright pink umbrella. It makes for a very realistic but pretty photo.

I think you used the rule of thirds adequately, with all major subjects and lines placed along the thirds of the photo.

The soft lighting works very good for this photo, so nice job using a type of lighting that reflects the mood of a normal day, albeit a bit bleak, broken up by color.
