Shining Through

I took this photo for a 2 second shutter speed assignment at night time after it had snowed earlier in the day. The street light was shining through the tree and I zoomed in on the branches. I liked how this photo turned out and did not change anything besides the levels a small amount. I liked the look of the light peeking through the tree.

I think that this is quite an intriguing image. Even though it feels as though there's something I should say against it, I'm not certain of what that something is. Perhaps you went beyond simply "filling the frame" by making the subject too large to fit in the image. The light from the street lamp adds a nice touch of warmth to the snow; it's great how the light shines through the snow to make it glow. Finally, there doesn't seem to be any dominant lines to lead the eye around the photo, or perhaps there are too many lines to be effective. As I said, this is an interesting photo, so keep up the good work.

This photo is interesting and i love the branches...but, it is not a finished product. This image could be immeasurably improved if you just cropped out the glaring light source. Any way you cropped this without that light would make a very interesting image, but as is, I can't even focus on any of the positive aspects because of the lurid light source. This could be awesome.

This is a very interesting image. It has an eerie almost Halloween feel to it because of the orange tint. I'm not sure about the light through the trees. I like it but I think it might look more appealing if the tree was just illuminated by an unidentifiable light source. I love the faint snow on the trees. It creates a deep contrast against the glaring light...like fire and ice. And the black background really adds a sense of unity to the whole picture. Nice job!

I like this photo because i feel it is very unique. It gives your audience a different perspective on the way tree branches look because it was taken at night. I like the light poking through but I think you could edit it more to give a more interesting feel to the photo.

This is a cool image. The only thing i don't like is what might be a power cable running through the light. The light from the street lamp adds a nice color to the snow and the light coming through the snow really makes it glow. I don't think you really used the rule of thirds but it still looks good. Very nice job though.

This image caught my eye because it is so different. I like the idea of using a fragment view point but I think you should have included less of the tree because i feel like the shot is too busy. The light in the foreground is an interesting concept though.

This is a wonderful lines of the trees. The light behind it really enhances the tree and gives it a slightly eerie vibe. Beautiful golden lighting.

The lighting in this image is fantastic. The light illuminates the branches in just the right spots, making them stand out, and the way that it only hits part of the tree works well. However, I think the image would be better if there were more sky showing - the contrast between the black and the bright branches would have been perfect. Other than that, this is a very good image! - Ross, SPHS

I like all of the different directions of the lines and the light that illuminates the snow that covers the branches.

I love the darkness and eeriness of this picture. The light shining in the middle of the branches is a little distracting, but it makes the orange color of the tree stand out.

I like how the light is shining through the trees and giving a white glow. The element being used is single center of interest. I think the lighting could be a little lighter. This picture reflects a mood of darkness that is sort of spooky.
