This was a picture that I took for my White Elephant assignment. I really like the depth of field and the complimentary red and green colors. Even though it doesn’t follow the rule of thirds I think it looks really good. I also think it is kind of cool that you can’t see her eyes because of the shadow because it adds to the thought that the Grinch is “evil.”

This is a cool picture. The out of focus background really gives it great depth of field and I almost wish I have 3D glasses, cause it feels like the Grinch would pop right out. The bright green Grinch really pops out because of its color as well. I do like the complementary colors, with your red nail polish. The fact that it doesn't follow the rule of thirds is a good thing, there is an exception to every rule and this is one of them. The fact that it is front and center and right in your face makes the picture much better and interesting. Having it off to the side, just to follow the rule of thirds, would leave to much uninteresting blurry background. Well done. MFS from SPHS.
This picture is different because it has an interesting subject. I like the way the grinch is positioned in front of the face and I also like the depth of field. I like the way the subject and the hand are in focus, but the background is blurred. It really makes the subject stand out. I like the colors because they are very vivid and go well together. I might have used a different composition because I think using the rule of thirds would have made the picture look better, but overall good shot.

I agree with a comment left before this one, if Mr. Grinch was off to the side it would make this picture better. Maybe if we saw some of her face, still burred and in the back but the Grinch off to the side. I like how her nails are painted red it makes the green man belong. :D
Eye-catching picture. It's very interesting. Like you said, I like the depth of field. I think it's cool how the red fingernails accentuate the things coming out of the Grinch's head. It's interesting how the fingernails are red, seeing as red and green are Christmas colors. I agree with EB from SPHS in that the rule of thirds would have been really great here. Cool shot. -EB from SPHS (no, not the same person as before)
