This is a shot a got at our boy’s varsity basketball game last Friday. It was the last picture I took and I felt like I had ended on a good note. I was so excited with the look: both boys are in stride, running and looking the same way. Our gym is EXTREMELY poorly lit so trying to get good, clear, and sharp action shots is difficult. I did a levels adjustment and played around with the saturation and then ultimately decided to just go black and white with it and give it a sort of brown/tan tone. All in all I think this shot turned out cool.

I think it turned out pretty cool too. I am glad you decided on the sepia tone since the lighting was not quality. It looks like a picture you might find in an old yearbook...just with modern uniforms :) The guys look very focused on getting to the basketball or whatever they're trying to do. The composition is good; I think it is perfectly cropped. Even though it is not sharp, it is a good picture...especially for an action shot.

I think there is a lot about this picture that could be improved. When the picture is full size, nothing is even close to being in focus. The picture is also extremely noisy, it is distracting to look at the picture, and see nothing but noise. Another thing about this picture I don’t like is how the players are running, but you don’t give them in room in the shot to run, if that makes any sense. I can see why you think this is a cool picture, but I personally would have improved a lot more things before publishing it on the internet.
