Photo by Alex Emery, 6th Period
I was taking photos for my lines, textures, patterns and this was one of my favorites that i took. The speedometer is in focus and the windshield wiper clicker thing is out of focus making it a good depth of field shot.

Nice perspective! This is a picture that most people would find pretty boring, but interpretation is key in art. The only thing that bugs me is that the yellow at the top of the picture is pretty dark. Nonetheless, this photo stands out.
I also like the perspective you achieved with the shallow depth of field. Things that I think might help the shot; include keys in the ignition, limit the reflection on the odometer by parking the car in a shady place, and (now this is tricky because you need a friend to help) take the shot while the car is being driven so that the gas meter and mph meter read something other than zero. Now don't go zooming down the freeway and try this and say Mr Myers told you to. Do it on a quite country road with someone else driving. Anywho thanks for posting your image.
great depth of field. i like the contrast and i like how close up you got. nice shot!
This photo would have been better if the wiper lever was below the speedometer and only the smaller glare was there but the angle of the shot and the depth of field is good. FORTE
