Droplets of Life

Photo by Morgan Kim, 6th Period
When I went on a field trip to Mt. Rainier for my Geology class in September, I immediately looked for nice water droplets on leaves because it was still morning by the time we arrived. Typically, people in general just seem to like photos of water; it creates a relaxing atmosphere. This was the first time I had actually used the Nikon D70s, and I had no clue whatsoever as to how to use it (auto-focus, aperture, etc.) so this picture isn't exactly how I had wanted it to turn out. However, I find it visually appealing.

Nice color, nice detail, nice depth of field. I like it a lot -- be sure to submit it for Ascent.

I have seen quite a few of close-up foliage shots before, but this one is already high on my list. Thus far, this is the best one I've seen to date. Driplets of water look is fantastic focus as well as the two leaves up front. The blurry background creates a great three dimensionality and give the image great feel. Keep up the good work.

you got so close to the leave you can practically touch it. The lighting really makes the picture great.

What I like most about this picture is all the greenery that is used! The water dropletts make the greenery stand out even more.
