Pink!

Description: I was walking up to my front door after school and I noticed these flowers and I thought the colors looked really nice together. I really liked how the pink stood out in all the green. I wanted to show a little depth of field so I tried to get the focus more towards the middle and have the foreground and background out of focus

Wheat

This is a photo of a wheat grass growing at the beach of my cabin. I tried to get one strand of wheat in focus as the others were out of focus. The warm colors in this photo are my favorite. Originally the color tones were dull, so I enhanced the brightness levels and contrast. My favorite thing about this picture is the sun rays going across the photo. I didn’t do it intentionally, but I love how it turned out.

Gerber Baby

by: Stefanie P.
I took this photo on Sept 20, 2009 at my mother’s friends birthday party,, I really like this photo because I captured it at the perfect moment right as he laughed, after he kindly spilled fruit punch all over him and myself, so I made a funny face thinking as great I’m never going to get this stain out and right when I made that face I had to grab my camera and capture that beautiful smile showing nothing but four pearly whites.

Orange Skyline

I was out driving with my parents, and I had my camera handy incase I saw anything interesting to shoot. While dropping someone off I notice a beautiful sunset, and knew I had to grab the shot while I still had it. I set my shutter speed to about 1/1200 and had my white balance set on a cloudy setting. By having these settings I was able to have the cars and houses blacked out and only have the black outlining of the trees with a beautiful auburn color in the background. I am happy with the way the picture turned out and was glad I was able to capture it right as the sun was setting.

Got Milk?

This picture was taken during lunch after this kid decided to stomp his milk and crush it then decide to leave it there. I like how you can see the chocolate milk stream down from the crushed carton. It’s kind of cool how the pavement is in focus while the milk cartoon is kind of going out of focus. When I originally took the picture it was very dark so I changed the layers and made it brighter so you could see what the subject was.

Fall Fever

After the school was over I was waiting for my mom to pick me up. When she did pick me up as we turned the corner of the ERHS lot I saw a beautiful tree. I thought that since it is fall and the color of the tree is remarkable, that it was a perfect option to take at the angle. Since we were moving at a slow but quick speed I turned my camera on shutter speed of 4ooo. This made the picture very solid in light and movement.

Garden Bloom

I wanted to bring out the contracting colors between the red and yellow. I also made sure I filled the frame so the bee was also clearly visible. I the lighting was a little darker yet I did not want the background to be a center of interest.

Shining Through

I took this photo for a 2 second shutter speed assignment at night time after it had snowed earlier in the day. The street light was shining through the tree and I zoomed in on the branches. I liked how this photo turned out and did not change anything besides the levels a small amount. I liked the look of the light peeking through the tree.

Glass Fountain

By: Kayla S.
This is a shot I got during our field trip to Laurel Gardens. I was indoors and it was a cool cloudy day outside. I walked into a room that was sort of an office. On a side table with a glass top were four glasses. Using the natural light of the outdoors coming through the window, I attempted to capture the reflection of the glass on the glass table top and I think it turned out fairly well. I like that the photo is somewhat dim. It’s clear but it adds to the beauty of the shot. Let me know what you think!
