Space Needle

Photo by Samantha Fikilini, 5th Period

I took this photo when I was in Seattle. I really didn’t do much to the picture. I just turned up the contrast a bit. This is the last picture I took that day. The sky was very cool that day.

Twinkle Toes

Photo By Megan Mairs, 5th Period
I took this shot for my famous photographer assignment. My goal was to capture the art of dance. This shot was taken while the dancers at my studio were practicing there dance for an upcoming show. I love how I captured them just as they paused for a moment and I love the lighting on the picture. I am very pleased with how this turned out.

This is one of the pictures I took for the Famous Photographer assignment. I really enjoyed taking these pictures because it was challenging to get certain shadows and making sure the contrast was just right. It was also challenging to make the depth of field how my famous photographer would have made it.

Washington Sunset

Photo by Caitie McKenzie, 6th Period
I took this picture from the construction site of the new Jr. High. It was almost 8:30 at night and I was driving home from work when I was the sun reflecting off the mountain. I really liked the way it looked with the clouds and the shadows. The picture is dark and most of the color that was there to begin with was gone once I got there. However, I still like the way it turned out.

Games

These photos were taken for the Photo I monthly theme: Games. There is NO digital enhancement, the lighting effects were accomplished with colored light bulbs and a glass chess set. The exposure time was between 8 and 20 seconds for the different light bulbs against a dark background. I have an idea about which I like the best, but want feedback with your thoughts.
UPDATE: The purple (black light) and red are really NOT blurry in the original photo - just when uploaded to Blogspot.

Simba

Photo By Nikki Woods, 5th Period
This is a picture that I took while I was at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle for a friend’s birthday. The weather that day was real crummy and I didn’t think that any of my pictures would turn out well, but this one kind of did. I like it because it reminds me of The Lion King and pride rock.

cars

Photo by Alex Emery, 6th Period

I went to a hotrod/motorcycle show with Darin and his two cousins. I was really excited because of all of the cars. This was one of my favorite that I took. Nothing too exciting.

You've got a friend in me.

I took the idea of using toys as the main focus from Chelsea after she did a panoramic of barbies. I had my Dad take down one of the many containers that hold all of my childhood toys and as soon as I opened it I was shocked to see a Jesse and Woody doll. I set them up on my front steps and with the weather being how it's been lately it gave me a lot of hard light, which kind of drowns there face out a little. The reason I really like this picture is because I focused on the boots but when you first look at it your eyes are drawn to the bright clothing on the dolls but then after you look at it for a little you realize that the brown boots are what are really in focus.

Little Sister

Photo By Tionet Waters, 5th Period
I took this picture for my portraits assignment. I decided to take a visual perspective picture of my sister looking up at the camera. When taking this picture, I stood on a chair and aimed the camera down at my sister and snapped the photo. I was also trying to take the picture where everything from the neck up is in focus.
