Katie Portrait

For this picture I used raw format but also took this picture for my Studio project for Photography. It was very challenging because I was not sure how to set the studio lights up and everything else. I also had a lot of settings that were off so I finally realized it and got some pictures that were worth taking. I got this picture towards the end and I think it shows her personality.

I like the use of a brown backdrop. To Write Love On Her Arms:)

I really like how this portrait isn’t a sitting-straight-up-and-smiling-a-perfect-picture-day-smile picture. I think that this is a good picture because it reflects a more silly, casual, and just real mood, like you guys were enjoying yourself taking this picture and I think that’s important in photography. I also love the tones on this picture, because all the brown tones set off the color of her eyes wonderfully. Nice job.

First off, I don’t really like how the subject is in the center; I think you would have been better off using the rule of thirds. Not only that, but it seems like the whole picture is in shades of black/brown. Next time try using more color! :)

The tones of the image are very sepia. The contrast could’ve been toned down for less luminous skin.

The positioning of the subject deflects the ‘rule of thirds’ because the silhouette is not flat.

A fun and interesting, monotone image.

Bravo.
