I took this picture for our 2 second exposure assignment. I gave my boyfriend a box of matches, put him in a dark room and told him to play around. It was a really difficult thing to shoot, and I only got a few decent shots that I liked. This one was one of my favorites. I love the clarity of his fingers and the blue part of the flame of the matches. The only thing I really don’t like is the rings of light around the flame. They are really distracting. I tried to figure out how to get rid of them on photoshop, but I couldn’t. Maybe I’m just photoshop impaired.

This picture is really cool! It;s kind of strange that he's playing with fire but at the same time it makes a great shot! It kind of reminds me of the old show on Nickelodeon called Are You Afraid of the Dark! You really brought back old memories with this one! Good job!

Sweet! This is nice experimentation. My friend an i were talking about trying something like this soon. It's not the absolute best photo ever, but i think if you messed around a little more you could get an extremely amazing shot. I suggest playing with the colors and contrast on photoshop. Maybe making this black and white would look cooler. I would also play with levels and contrast adjustments. Taking some emphasis off the face in the back ground so that it fades into the back would help this shot a lot. It's real cool though!
This is an interesting photograph. I like the match with the figure in the background. Maybe create a smaller depth of field next time to put more emphasis on the the matches so the figure is not quit so clear and thus not fighting for the central focus. The piece of jean at the bottom is also somewhat distraction. I love the interesting composition though!
This is a great picture! I think fire is an interesting subject for pictures. I like how the background is dark because it makes the fire stand out more. I would have made the depth of field smaller though, so that the fire would take up more of the picture. This photo kind of reminds me of a scary movie. It’s a good picture!

I really like this picture. I don't know why but you almost have an evil or sinister look portrayed while you're lighting the match. I also like how the flames are angled off to the left. You can easily tell that the other match is being lit. Great photo.
