Good Day Sunshine

Jeanna K
I took this picture while on a choir retreat in Idaho. We were given some free time, so my friend Ashley went with me to take pictures. I had taken several pictures of the trees and the lake, and I started to get bored with all the same pictures. So I asked Ashley if she’d start throwing leaves around. I got a really nice silhouette of her, but it wasn’t dark enough for my liking, so I just played around with the contrast on photoshop.

I think this photo is really good. I love the highlights on her face and hair and the fact that the leaves are falling looks really cool. I think it would be better if she was a little less centered.

I really like this picture. I like how the girl is mostly dark except for the little bit of sunlight on her hair and the top of her head. I think that the dark colors go well together, but I do think that if you had used the rule of thirds it would have made the composition in the shot more interesting. I also think that the dark object next to her is distracting, but overall I think that it is a pretty shot.

I really like your photo. I agree with Eliana, the over all composition would look better if the subject was not centered. I think that the change in lighting was a good idea, the overall change in lighting is really interesting. I also like how the lake and subject are not blurry. Good job.

I really like your creativity. One thing I would have changed would be to have her be more in the thirds, or have more of the background. But I really love the idea behind it.

I think this photo is great. I enjoy how you turned her body into a silhouette, but there are still great highlights on her face and hair. The leaves falling create a movement and lots of deep feelings within the picture. Keep it up!
