This is a portrait I took of my friend Lexi in the early fall. It was really difficult to get her to give me her genuine smile and this shot is actually a candid. I think it turned out pretty well especially since I am just beginning to get an idea of how to take good portraits. This captures her bubbly and carefree personality and I love how natural she looked in the photo. I wish I would have gotten more of her hair in the shot. Please let me know what you think and any suggestions for portrait photography are welcome.

This is a great portrait of your friend. I don’t know her but from you wrote you did a good job of capturing a candid. Plus I’m sure she was moving so you did a good job with the shutter speed.
