Night Lights

I took this photo at the Puyallup Fair around 9pm. While I was taking pictures of this ride moving, it stopped to unload a few passengers while I was looking through my lens. I mounted the camera on the metal fence separating me from the ride and zoomed in on the light bulbs that were on the ride’s long metal arms. The whole time I was there, I was trying to take different shots of rides that weren’t your typical cliché fair photo. I’m pretty happy with how clear this turned out, since my lighting was very low and I wasn’t equipped with a tripod. The only thing I manipulated was the levels, and I changed the edges of the metal over the red bulbs to a tint of purple.

Mutton Buster

I took this photo at the sheep riding event during the fair, all the kids are under 6 years old and weigh less than 60 lbs. I like this photo because I was lucky enough to take it right as he fell off. The only adjust made to the photo was the color levels of the photo because I took it with the wrong whit balance setting

Morris on the Prowl

I took this photo sometime ago during this past summer. This cat just came out of the blue so I started to snap away. It was difficult to take pictures of him, because he just wouldn’t hold still. What I was trying to do in this photo was having the cat at the rule of thirds with space in front of him. I was happy with this because I didn’t think I would get a good shot out of him anyways. What I would do differently would be to take the photograph from a different angle.

Kermit the Frog

I was walking in my backyard and saw this little frog sitting on my sister’s flowers. I found him in that exact position and he looked pretty content with staying there. So I grabbed my camera and started shooting. I cropped the photo so the focus was more on the frog instead of the surrounding background and I adjusted the levels and contrast just a tad. I’m really happy with the way this picture turned out.

Blurry Red Swing (the best title Landon could come up with)

I took this picture at the fair at night; it was the last ride on the swings. It was really hard to get this picture because I didn’t have a tripod so I had to hold the camera really still. I thought it was a good picture because of how I caught that one person.

High Tide

I was in Tacoma with my brother Joel and his dog at the waterfront and saw this mini beach I guess you could call it and decided to take a picture of the little slice of sand. I thought it was a little too light so I leveled it manually in photo shop, there is a trash can that was a bright blue that I edited so that it wasn’t so distracting, can you find it? And I metered the light from the sky which was cloudy that day.

Space Needle

Photo by Samantha Fikilini, 5th Period

I took this photo when I was in Seattle. I really didn’t do much to the picture. I just turned up the contrast a bit. This is the last picture I took that day. The sky was very cool that day.

Twinkle Toes

Photo By Megan Mairs, 5th Period
I took this shot for my famous photographer assignment. My goal was to capture the art of dance. This shot was taken while the dancers at my studio were practicing there dance for an upcoming show. I love how I captured them just as they paused for a moment and I love the lighting on the picture. I am very pleased with how this turned out.

This is one of the pictures I took for the Famous Photographer assignment. I really enjoyed taking these pictures because it was challenging to get certain shadows and making sure the contrast was just right. It was also challenging to make the depth of field how my famous photographer would have made it.
