Brianne

This photo I took of my sister, Brianne for studio portraits. I tried many different poses and lighting. I think this one came out the best.

Headlights

This was a photo I took for my 2-second exposure assignment. I took this picture as my brother was backing the family car out of our garage. I liked this picture the best, because the light looks neat, outlining the car in the foreground of the picture.

Sherbet Skies

I took this after school while I was shooting photojournalism pictures of the Debate team. It was right after I finished, about 5 o’clock, when I saw the sunset outside the window of the classroom I was in. I had never seen a sunset so bright and orange in real life, so I took as many pictures as I could. I adjusted the levels and hue so that it wasn’t as dark and I also adjusted the color to make the yellows show a little better.

Smile

Sierra A-H.
This was the first time I ever had to work with studio lights. It was really fun and hard at first because my best friend was in a grumpy mood. I ended up getting her to lighten up a bit and got this candid shot of her ACTUALLY SMILING. I also have a feeling if she sees this she’s going to kill me for posting it on the internet ha ha.

I took this picture on a night trip to Seattle. I found myself to like this picture a lot more than expected, it wasn’t grainy and dark like most night pictures turn out. The colors were all very vibrant on their own, and the picture was very clear. It didn’t require any editing other than a small crop.

No name for Annie - so sad!

I took this photo while at Pike Place Market, obviously. But I like it because it is not the typical shot of this sign. I also like the daffodils bordering the shot. The sun was behind the sign so the lighting was not as good as it could have been, but I was satisfied with the shot.

Access denied

One snowy day, in Puyallup, Washington I went on a urban snowboarding adventure which brought us to the dump and Sunrise Medical Center where I saw this photo opportunity. I did minimal editing to the photo.

Coffee

I took this picture for a color assignment we did. I choose the color green. I tried to keep my main focus on the coffee cup. I think it would have been smarter if had my sister wearing a green shirt, but that could have over powered the cup. I think this is one of my okay pictures. I really didn’t have many to choose from.

Strawberry

Jennifer D.
This was the most challenging picture I have ever taken. To do this I used a tutorial from photographer and artist William van der Steen called “Create Wonderful Sliced Fruit Images”. I had to use tons of light so that less shadows would show up. I had an exposure of 1/250 sec. Toothpicks held the strawberry slices up; to remove the toothpicks I used the stamp tool in Photoshop.
