Red Raven

This picture was taken for my fall assignment. The colors of the pumpkins, wagon, and flowers really represent what fall is, to me. I took this picture in Seattle at a flower shop. The wagon was outside and it was a gloomy day, so the lighting was perfect for this shot. The only thing I did in Photoshop was adjust the levels, enhancing the colors of the picture. Overall, I am very pleased with how this photo turned out.

Milk Martini

Splash photos are officially my favorite assignment so far. For this photo, I wanted a unique blend of colors, so I used milk against a very colorful towel (the background). I also wanted a larger splash, so I dropped a golf ball into the martini glass, with one hand on the golf ball, one hand on the camera button. I got a few like this one that turned out great...until I proceeded to break the martini glass later…no more golf balls in glass…

Color of Life

This picture was taken for my autumn assignment, I kind of wish that the leaves weren’t so droopy looking. But it was raining the night before and it was sunny that day. I love the colors the tree had and I wanted to take a picture before all the leaves fell off.

Forever Loved

I always drive by this road memorial and Friday I finally decided to take a picture of it. I used the cloudy white balance because it was cloudy and raining so it was hard to keep the camera dry. I used Photoshop to enhance the colors. Oh and just a reminder, drive safe.

Kick it to the Curb

This is a photo taken originally for autumn themed assignment. I went out and walked around for about an hour and came up with some pretty cool pictures. I think the curb side view is unique in a number of ways. You see leaves in the gutter everyday, but rarely do you see from down low. I brought up the situation a bit to make the colors a little more vivid. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Portraits

I saw a bunch of little pumpkins that had face paintings on them while I was down at the pumpkin patch on a family excursion. I was taking autumn pictures for an assignment and I thought the pumpkins captured the essence of this season. I got to the pumpkins level, got up close and personnel with them and took some great shots. I liked this one the most.

No Trespassing

I took this picture when I was down in Orting with my family coming home from the pumpkin patch. I was in the process of taking pictures for my autumn assignment, but I thought this abandoned house was really interesting. I didn’t have to do too much editing; I just reduced the color and brightness to make it look even creepier.

TOUCHDOWN!

I took this picture at an ERHS football game vs. Bethel. It was before half time and I wanted to get pictures of other things not just the players. I used a big zoom lens and an ISO of 3200.

Snacks in the stack

I was taking pictures of cookies for my Close Ups assignment when I decided that I’d take a picture of the whole stack, instead of something closer, just for fun. I used my table lamp for whiter light and paper for the background. I also set my camera to macro.

Labyrinth

This was probably my favorite project this year. I couldn’t really think of anything for my faceless project. I figured my fellow Photo II class mates would do silhouettes so I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to be different I saw the movie  “Pans Labyrinth” so I had the idea of drawing eyes on who ever my model would be. I as going to my friends house and we found a sharpie and drew Egyptian eyes on our friend Marks hands. I thought that the picture was gonna have an eerie feel to it because it was suppose to be cloudy outside but it ended up being sunny and bright which gave it a different look to it. It’s not as creepy looking as I thought it was going to be.
