Smokey the Bear Wouldn’t Approve

By: Jeanna K.
I took this picture for our 2 second exposure assignment. I gave my boyfriend a box of matches, put him in a dark room and told him to play around. It was a really difficult thing to shoot, and I only got a few decent shots that I liked. This one was one of my favorites. I love the clarity of his fingers and the blue part of the flame of the matches. The only thing I really don’t like is the rings of light around the flame. They are really distracting. I tried to figure out how to get rid of them on photoshop, but I couldn’t. Maybe I’m just photoshop impaired.

Lonely Pear

By Sara Do.

This is a picture from the white elephant assignment that we did. My lucky item was a plastic pear and we were to come up with creative ways to shoot using the object in every photo. I shot most of my pictures outside because the lighting was better out there but this picture happened to be inside on my kitchen table. I opened the window to let the sunlight in so the color levels looked more natural. I really like the depth of field on this shot and I like how its just a simple picture.

Water fall

By: Rachel L.
I took this picture while I was doing the 2 second exposure assignment I really like how the water is moving but everything is froze. I used a tripod to get the picture to be still because if I held it, it would have been blurry. I really like how thins picture turned out.

Laurel Gardens

I took this picture while we went on a field trip to Laurel gardens. I thought it would be interesting to go down to the flowers while I was taking pictures of the wedding house. I took one focusing on the house, then one focusing on the flowers. The best one turned out to be the one focused on the flowers.

Illumination

I took this photo for our 2-second shutter speed assignment in my house. At first, I was discontent with the orange tone the photo ended up with, but I then I ended up liking it because it gives the photo a warm feel. Out of all the pictures of the candles that I took, this one was the clearest and that is why I chose it. Tell me what you think!

Mitch is lazy with titles

by Mitch D.

I took this picture during our field trip to Laurel Garden. The room was fairly dark inside. There where some whine glasses on a table that looked like they could make a good picture so I snapped a few pictures of them. The picture you are looking at right now is the one that I selected for my blog posting. I thought that is was a pretty good picture. I thought the lighting hit the glass at a cool angle.

Mike got new bullets

By: Jade E.
Description: I came home from school one day, after hearing bout HDR photos so I thought I would give it a try. I found some old 22 bullets. Then took some pictures and made a HDR photo, of them and it turned out pretty good.

Mirror World

This is another photo that I took for the Selective Color assignment. I had to so this twice because the first time I tried this it was foggy and I was wearing a grey sweatshirt, so there was very little color in the mirror. To get this shot I set up the mirror in a little patch of trees behind my house, set the timer, hit the button, and ran out in front of the mirror. It took a couple of tries to make sure I was centered in the mirror and didn’t have a weird look on my face. I really like how this turned out; it’s one of my favorite photos.

Staring at Statues

By: Victoria P.
This is a photo I took while in Downtown Puyallup. I was standing outside the library after taking some shots of the park and this little girl came running over very excited and crouched down by this statue. She sat there staring at it and making faces at it for about a minute. I was lucky enough to capture this shot and was pretty happy about it. I like how the color of her hair and her dress stand out so much. The only changes I made were cropping the image, adjusting the level, and increasing the brightness and contrast a little.

Costa Rican Magic Carpet Ride

By: Dillon W.
This photo is one of my favorites. I took it when I was skating with some friends and than I used it for a colors assignment and I like it a lot better in black and white better than I did in color and I really like how the board was a brighter color so it sticks out really well.
