Elk in the Woods

I took this photo in Greenwater, a little skiing town near Crystal Mountain. I saw this elk when I went out to take pictures for the winter theme. I like how photo shows the elk’s surroundings, especially the trees and the snow. The only editing I did was to adjust the levels a bit.

This picture is really good. I like how the elk is just standing staring. That must have been really hard to capture. Some adjustments I would have made would be getting rid of the spot on the tree with the patch tool. The spot catches my attention when I look at the elk. But other than that GREAT JOB!

I love the framing with the tree. It’s awesome how the elk is actually looking at the camera; that can be tricky with animals and little kids. Overall nice colors and theme.

i like this photo the natural background and subject caught my attention. I like the fact that the elk in not in the middle of the photo. The natural lines of the tree branches with snow add nice linear movement as well. Nice photo of a natural setting.

This is such a beautiful picture. Its like one you would see on a postcard. I love how the elk is framed by the trees. You also used the rule of thirds nicely with the placement of the elk. I wish we had snow like this occasionally in Alabama. The only thing I find annoying about the picture is the big brown spot on the tree. It draws the eye away from the elk. Its like there is a face in the tree. Its a very crisp and clear picture, taken very nicely.
