Make a Wish

I took this picture of a dandelion when I was at my dads. I tried to blow on it so I could capture the seeds scattering but they didn’t really move. I like how the background is out of focus.

The lighting seems kind of dull, there needs to be a little more contrast, with a bit more vivid colors. I love the short depth of field because it allows the view to concentrate on the center of interest. All around good picture though.

Overall, I think that this is a good photo. If it were me taking the picture I would try and add a little more contrast in Photoshop to make the colors more vivid. The lighting is a little dark too. I also like how the short depth of field makes the dandelion stand out.

This is a wonderful shot. I love the detail that you captured in this picture. The only problem i have with this shot is the blurry object in the bottom right. this is very distracting and takes away from the over all effect of the shot. I would also recommend that you resize your photos before you up load them onto the internet, because uploading a full resolution shot is just asking for someone to steal your work.

I think this is an excellent shot. I really like how the colors are turned down because I think it reflects the soft, delicateness of the dandelion. I like how the background is out of focus because it brings more attention to the subject, and also adds to the soft feel of the photo.

I really like most of the composition in this shot. The way the tree cuts in to the image like that is very effective and adding the dandelion both contrasts and neutralizes that enough to where one can enjoy the sharpness. I agree with Andrew that the blurred object in the corner is very distracting, but I must also add that the negative space is a bit awkward. I must disagree with Mike K because if you do more Photoshop to make the colors pop out more, it will lose the interesting color scheme that it has. Also, it has the right amount of value, especially in the tree. Detail in the tree, as well as in the dandelion, is superb. Overall, good picture but next time could you resize to smaller resolution. -RC, SPHS

I think that overall this is a great shot, but the lighting is rather dark. I like how the background is blurred and makes the dandelion stand out. However, the white object in the bottom left hand corner is distracting.

I really like this picture. I like the placement of the dandelion, because it's unusual and kind of makes me think.I think it should be brighter, and the white object in the lower left corner should have been removed from the shot or fixed in photo shop. I know you said you tried to blow on it to make the seeds go everywhere, but I like the 2 or 3 seeds that are the only ones coming off of the dandelion. It's really interesting.
