I took this photo at dress rehearsal for our school’s fall play. It was difficult to get images to turn out because the entire play was done with spotlights which gave me a lot of shadows on people’s faces. I ended up using a manual setting and a shutter speed of about 1/50 which resulted in a lot of hand blur and other small motion. I really love this image because these are the two main characters and both of them have great expression on their faces. Also the lighting worked well, and I didn’t have the shadow problem I mentioned earlier. All I did was a simple white balance adjustment in Photoshop. The only thing I would change is maybe to get a little bit more of her arm in the frame because it cuts off awkwardly.

I really like this picture! I think that you did a great job. I photographed my school’s musical two weeks ago and I had a lot of the same difficulties you mentioned. Your focus and depth of field is great. Good Job!
This is phenominal! The lighting and focus are exquisite. Amazing photo.
this picture is amazing and i love the lighting. next time have her whole arm showing and not have some of it cut out of the picture.
The cool part about this picture is that he’s blurry and she is not. But it’s way too dark in the back.
