Black and White and Red All Over

Photo by Cory Burkhead, 5th Period

For this shot, I set the shutter speed at 30 seconds and the F-stop at 16 in a very dark room using a tripod. The effect comes from moving an alarm clock around while changing the time. The setting of this photo is on a glass table, so the reflections bounced around a quite a bit. Overall, I really liked the psychedelic lighting effects and weird feedback from the red lighting.

This really is a cool picture, it looks photoshopped but in a good way. It still puzzles me as to how it turned out, but I really like it, especially how the colors go together. The red stands out really well against the blue-green and grey background, and how the red fades and gets brighter above the numbers. The only criticism I would have is the “SONY” to the right, it doesn’t seem to fit right there. It’s still a fantastic shot.

this picture caught my eye. i like how you really have to look at it to see how complicated it is. All of the steps that you took to make this picture are really impressive. nice job.

This is a really good idea, though aside from the numbers, it is difficult to tell what i am looking at. You might try to move the clock around a few times with the lights off, then set the clock down and shine a flashlight at the clock for a short time. That way, you would have the numbers moving around, and a clear image of the clock.
