Luminous

Photo by Caitie McKenzie, 6th period
I was climbing an old piece of the Oregon Trail over Mt. Hood. You had to cross this old highway that hadn’t been used in forever, so there were trees and shrubs growing out of the concrete. The majority of the trees were pine, but there were some deciduous mixed in, and the ground was littered in these bright gold leaves. I liked this one because it was by itself and the sun was glowing on it at a really cool angle. I tried looking straight down on it but you didn’t get the full effect of the light. The picture was taken from the ground and I just liked how the leaf appeared to be glowing inside out.

most the photos on this blog have a depth of field that focuses only the object they want you to see but in this photo you had some debri on the right in view which i think ads a nice touch to pic anf the yellow leaf still stands out. FORTE
