Sweet Simplicities

While riding with a friend in her backyard, I discovered an adorable little clover surrounded by tiny greens, and just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a picture of it. I placed several blue beads around the clover, and crouched down extremely low. Took the picture, cropped it in Photoshop and edited the contrast some. I like it, and I think it turned out pretty well.

Sour Expression Curtis

Well I was taking pictures of the Boys Dual against Curtis that night and this was a varsity match. I was standing at the time and I was lucky to get this shot of the expression the Curtis guy was making from wrestling one of our boys. I used a high ISO because the varsity matches had the one spot light over the mat and I used auto white balance so the picture wouldn’t turn blue or anything.

On The Fence

I was venturing outside to take photographs of the winter wonderland that had occurred and saw the fence hinge and thought it really could make my picture look a bit antique. I took a couple pictures just like this one but favored the outcome of the focus on the section in this picture. Sometimes when taking pictures with snow involved, it can create a blueish tint, but I was happy that the snow came out so white! I didn’t do much to enhance the photo except fix the levels slightly.

Sheep WA925

Jennifer D.
I always drive by these sheep but they were never close enough for me to get a good picture. One day I saw the sheep by the fence and decided just to take a picture and just deal with using zoom. I sat down by the fence and got my camera ready thinking that they wouldn’t get close enough for me to get an in-your-face shot. I guess this sheep was curious because it started walking up to me; the sheep stuck his head out of the fence and got in my face. After I was done freaking out I took this picture. I used an ISO of 3200 no zoom was required and finally got my sheep shot.

La Maison

I took this picture in Tacoma for a night photography assignment. I put a long shutter speed to capture more light. The only editing done was a little vibrance to make the sky stand out more.

Frozen Rose

Annie G.
The thing I really like about this picture is how much the red stands out. I picked this picture out of the rest, because of the detail in the snowflakes. It took me a few shots, but I was generally happy with the result. I did not do anything in photoshop to enhance the colors. I liked it the way it was.

Maintain Your Valuables

Xavier N.
This is a portrait of my close friend, Holly. The photo shoot was not planned, so we had very little time to take photos. I used professional lamps for the first time, and also utilized some reflectors. My intentions were to strip the setting of any hard shadows and to fill the subject with light. We had a heck of a time just deciding how she should look, which is a project on its own. However, we pulled it together and got some great shots.

Rocky Water

This picture was taken for my splash assignment, it took my awhile to find what I wanted but I think this is one of my favorites; I really like the blue tint. I had my brother help me and he listened way better than my mom. The first time I tried to take splashes looked awful and the second takes were way better.

Silhouette

I as in Seattle doing my job shado at the Queen Ann community center when I saw this tree and it’s looked really cool with al the small branches and the blue sky at sunset. I used 1/160 shutter speed to get some of the light yet keep the silhouette of the tree. It’s not my FAVORITE picture. but it’s ok

Apple Splash

This picture was taken for my Make a Splash assignment. To get this picture, I put an apple in my kitchen sink and let water from the faucet run on top of the apple. The lighting was terrible, so I had to change the levels on photo shop, which gave the apple a more vibrant color of red. Overall, I am very pleased with how my splash picture turned out.
