Yaaaay, black n’ white

There were some flowers on the ground and the way they were angled looked kind of cool so I took pictures of them. I also thought this would look better in black and white so I did that and they actually looked better!

O Snap, a Flower

My focus for this picture was all about lighting. To get my required lighting I set-up a mini studio, using butcher paper and a shop light. This is one of more favorite pictures, though it is a bit on the blurry side unfortunately. I did some editing in Photoshop with levels and tried to make the colors more vibrant, largely a fail in what I was looking for, but still decent I think.

this photo I took for the lighting assignment. It is of my baby nephew and I happened to catch him right as he was leaning on our railing of the porch. I didn’t really do much to it but crop it.

5 Mile Drive

by Kaiti D

Description: I took this picture on a day trip to the Puget Sound. My brother, his girlfriend and I were on five mile drive and a few cars were stopped in front and we realized that there were a bunch of raccoons on the side of the road. I grabbed my camera and leaned out the window and started taking pictures. This one was my favorite.

Washington Mountain Tops

I was snow shoeing up at Mt. Rainier and the day was perfect. It was nice because I wasn’t fogged in, and the lighting was pristine for taking pictures. All of my photos were taken in RAW. I then, converted it to black and white and manipulated the shadows to make the picture have a bolder effect.

Flowers

I took this picture for the Lighting Experiments assignment. I took a lot of pictures of different subjects, but the flowers were my favorite. I really like the lighting in this picture. I think it turned out well. I messed with the levels a little but in Photoshop, but other than that I didn’t do anything else.

Orange Sunset

I took this picture a while ago but I chose it because we’re doing lighting experiments and I thought this was a good example of colored light because the sunset is so strong it turns the sky orange.

Heart

I really like how this picture turned out. I used a dark black room, two flashlights, and my sister moving the flashlights really fast in the motion of a heart. It took a bunch of tries to get it as close as it came to a heart, and this is the best one. This was a fun picture to take because it took a lot of time and concentration to get the heart to look like an actual heart.

Guitar Strings

I took this picture for the Guitar club at my school. I love the way it turned out. I darkened the levels and adjusted the lightness of the photo. I think it’s a cool up close shot and I like the way the camera focused when I took the picture.
