FUNfetti!

By: Jenny B.

I took this picture for our cooking assignment and I think it turned out really great. I was really happy that I was able to get a macro shot this sharp. It took me a while to get the correct focus, but once I got it the image was really clear. I also like how you can really see the design of the frosting up close, and how the sprinkles in the back are out of focus.

A Night Out

Every Sunday I go to this exact spot and always walk by and stare at the incredible view. Even in my picture I really don’t think the skylines view is justified. I set my camera it 4 seconds to capture the mountains in the background. I also added a color balance layer to increase the lights shown in the windows of the buildings. This was the first shot I took from my camera and I liked it the best. I tried several times to recreate this same shot, but none turned out as well as the first one. I slightly burned the edges of the photograph to help guide the eyes focus to the center of the photograph.

Blue Waterfalls

This was one of my final prints for my two second exposure assignment. I adjusted the colors and contrast, along with levels to brighten it up and sharpen it more. While I got other interesting pictures, I believe these were the best ones out of the ones I took. I really like how the water looks coming down the rocks.

Keeper save against Spanaway

I took this picture on the 17th of March for the J.V. Emerald Ridge soccer team / for my Photojournalism project. I used a multi-shot setting and a high shutter speed to get the stillness of the goalkeeper and the ball within each other. I had a great time taking these pictures because it was sunny and it was a 4-0 win for Emerald Ridge I believe.

Duck, Duck, Goose

I took this picture for my famous photographer assignment. I like how the picture has a side lighting and how you can see the silhouette reflected in the water.

Shadow Of The Day

This is a photo from first semester; I selected it because it’s one of my favorite pictures. I threw it into black and white and added fog to the picture, and it gives it that more morning movie feel.

Abandoned

I took this picture for the Famous Photographer assignment. My photographer takes photos that represent abandonment and he’s a night photographer. I took a picture of an abandoned house in Eatonville. I edited it in Photoshop to make it look more eerie, but even without editing I think it turned out well.

A Night of Music

The Les Miserable’s was our school musical production and I choose to take pictures of their dress rehearsal. It was challenging to work with the lighting, sometimes it would be very bright because of the spot lights and other times it was so dark capturing a picture was difficult. Once I figures out the right settings I simply changed my shutter speed frequently depending on what lighting was happening. This particular picture is one of the musicians in the pit. I changed the picture to black and white because I wanted a very classy look to my photograph. I added some layers and changed the curves slightly to add more light. Over all this was a great experience and I enjoyed the way my pictures came out.

Let’s play piano

I took this picture for a 2 second exposure assignment. It’s a candle in a holder on top of my piano. I cropped it a little bit because you could see part of another room in it. I also adjusted the levels and gave it a kind of red tint.

Waterfront

I went to the waterfront one day and got a lot of good pictures but I felt that this one was my best. I really like how the sky and clouds look like a painting and how you can see the cloud shadows in the water. I think that gives the picture a really cool effect. For this picture, I tried to get the whole scene of what I was looking at which was how nice the water and sky was.
