Rock in Winter

Photo by Tionet Waters, 5th Period
In photography, we were assigned to take winter photos. I decided to include this photo because I like the way the sun makes the snow sparkle. I also wanted the rock because you can see the shadow of the sun on it. The sun also makes the rock look bigger. When people look at this photo, I want them to think of winter and playing in the snow.

Watch Another Day Pass Me By

For my shutter speed assignment I used my friend Amber Cote and her brother, who is riding his bike behind her. It took several shots to finally get one that everything was clear and everything in a good placement. I had the shutter speed set to 1/13 seconds and the f-stop at F/11. I was trying to get a panning picture with this shot, and that’s what I got.

Untitled

This picture was taken at my family’s property. I saw a tree, and noticed it had a few apples on it. Some of them had water on them from the rain, and I liked the way they looked. So, I started to take pictures of them, and ended up getting this.

I took this picture during one of our snow days. I woke up, looked outside and saw the beautiful view of Mt. Rainier over the snow covered roof tops, so I grabbed my camera that was conveniently paced next to my bed and snapped a few pictures.

Shylo

Photo by Alex Emery, 6th Period
For a new assignment we had to take pictures of fuzzy, furry and cute things. Taking a picture of my sugar glider seemed to be a better choice instead of a dog or cat, something seen everyday and is not that interesting. It was kind of hard because she's so tiny and is nocturnal, so i tried my best to make it as good and as quick as possible. I think it turned out well. If you leave me rude comments Alesia Winters will do something rude to you.

Present

I actually find that this picture bores me but it’s the one that reminds me most of Christmas, it’s got the red and the green and all that fun jazz so criticize it all you want.

Ignition

Photo by Carl Canary, 6th Period
I took this picture while I was in line to get my car washed, I noticed that the light was good so I just whipped out the camera and started looking for good angles/ subjects. I just thought that this was a fairly elegant photo.

Stop

Photo by Samantha Fikilini, 5th Period
I took this picture a during the 8 days we didnt have school. It was the day after it snowed, the sun was out and everything was really bright. So i took a picture of this stop sign. I liked how red it looked against the really blue sky.

So it was either this picture or the macro shot. I figured macro is pretty well used and I wanted something a little different. I took this picture from the Krispy Cream (sic) parking lot for the night pictures assignment. I used a slightly slower shutter speed with a tripod to really show the most light.

Highchair

Photo by Brad Bardsley, 5th Period
I went up to Snoqualmie one day because I am cool and I instruct snowboarding. Little did anybody know except everyone but me, the power was out. Therefore I had the opportunity to take pictures of the resort without mass amounts of ugly people getting in my frame! I felt sad that I couldn’t snowboard but satisfied I could capture the beautiful resort!
