This photo wasn’t taken recently, but I used it for my color selection assignment. I went in on photo shop and creatively left the flower color while everything else was transformed to black and white. It makes the flower pop out, it makes me want it to be summer.

I like the way the photo is black and white in the background, and the flowers vivid colors are embraced. The blurriness of the background sets all attention on the flower. The depth of field is shown very well also.

The rule of thirds you used for this picture worked out really well. Usually people just put the picture right in the middle of the frame, but having it in the corner makes it more interesting. This flower was a great choice to use for selective color because the yellow and red just pop and caught my attention.
I really like how the background is black and white but the flower is still its original color it really makes the flower stand out. This is a really great photo.
