This photo was taken on a ferry headed to Vashon Island. The lovely young lady in the photo is my dear friend, Kaitlyn Humphrey. I expect most of everyone to know of her because she is a social butterfly and a most rambunctious young lady. This photo intrigues me because the lighting was not what I had originally hoped for. These were first of many that I took during that time on the ferry and the best. After initially evaluating the lighting I had decided it wasn’t bright enough. So I lightened my camera settings. The other photos had ‘proper lighting’ but were not at all interesting. The lighting gives the photo texture, interest, and the horizon breaks up any distractions and draws the eye to the subject. This photo is simple. I like simple.
