Colors Fading

So this picture idea was come up with while listening to presentations on famous photographers. What I did was I took the picture and before even leveling it, I duplicated it as a new layer. Then I leveled one of them to be darker and one lighter. Then Katie suggested that I throw it in black in white, so I threw the lighter layer in black and white then added a layer mask on the black and white layer. Then I gradient the layer mask so that it looked like the colors were fading away.

What I like about this photo is how the trail splits and that is where you made one way with color and the other way black and white. The element of composition being used is rule of thirds. The exposure is good.

I like this photo because its very unique. There isn’t really a element of composition that I know that would go with this picture but its still a fantastic picture. The mood is very indecisive to me, it’s either a creepy forest of a walk through the woods. Either way I really enjoy the picture.

I like the fading effect in this picture, I just wish it had been a little more gradual and less abrupt. Overall it’s a nice photo though, I really like the colors and shadows in it.

I like the picture for the most part, but i feel like the black and white part's contrast it to high, and could be a little darker. This picture also reminds me of the Poem by Robert Frost, Two Roads Diverged in a Yellow Wood.

This picture is really good! It looks like half of it is from present day & the other half is from the past. You made it interesting by not putting the black & white layer mask right in the middle and making it look different.

I really enjoy the different settings in the picture. It reminds me of the two roads you can choose to go down, the "right path" and the "wrong path" The good one being the one with color, and the wrong one being dark and gray. Overall I like the whole mood of the photo.

I really like this photo and the contrast from color to black and white. It transitions over very well and looks great!

I love the lighting and coloring in this photograph. When I saw this photo it reminded me of having cross roads in your life, the right path and the wrong. This photo looks like it has a lot of meaning to and that you put tons of time in thinking about it. Great job.
