Description: Our latest assignment for photo class was themed around shoes. For the longest time I lacked inspiration or ideas for this assignment, thus I put it off for the longest time. However actually I truly started to do the assignment, I started to enjoy it. To try and be “out-of-the-box” and original the thought occurred that I shouldn’t just sit and snap away at the shoes sitting in static and dull positions. To remedy this problem of plainness I decided to float my shoes in water, the effect I think turned out pretty cool. I like how the laces look almost as if they were suspended in space, which was truly the goal. Add to that my lighting and good bit of Photoshop processing, this picture was made. Overall this is one of my favorite pictures and even though I loathed the assignment, it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable.

The textures in this photo are really prominent and I really like how you can see the designs in the shoelaces as well as different texture found by looking at the actual shoe. The colors are very realistic and I like that the colors aren't overly bright because other wise it wouldn't have been as effective. By leaving the colors natural, it allows the shoe to seem aged and worn in which is more ascetically pleasing. The composition is well done in terms of the shoelaces being loose and the shoe following the rule of thirds.
I like that the picture is taken at a different angle, most of the shoe pictures that I looked at were very typical. I think that is is very interesting.

This picture instantly grabbed my attention. I love that some of the laces are out of focus but you can clearly see the subject of the photo. The lighting and color of the shoe are amazing.
