I took this picture during a cross country meet back in September. Shooting for this event was so fun. I was running all over the campus of our school taking pictures of the runners. I felt like I was in the race too because I was trying to catch them at different locations so I could get interesting shots. In this picture of our varsity boys were getting ready to take off for their race. I can just feel the determination vibes from Kevin. I really like my depth of field in this too.

I like this photo very much. Maybe cause i'm a fellow xc runner - i can relate to your experience running around and trying to catch all the best moments. The unplanned placement of the boys really works here. There are legs and arms everywhere, and at first glance it's a little confusing, but in a good way. The colors in this picture are particularly nice. The green in their uniforms and in the background trees give uniformity. Then the track is a rich brown which blends nicely with skin tones. The spots or patches on the track make me think of leaves - which gives it a nestalgic feel. It would be really awesome if there wasn't that grey fence in the background, but i wouldn't say that it takes much away from the photo overall. The best part of this shot is most definitely the mood - the boys are tence and determinded. I think understanding running would make people understand the greatness in this photo more. The more i look at it the more i really REALLY like it! I just wrote a whole lot - great job, really :)
