Car Chasing…

I took this picture of a car driving past in the street in front of my house, with a slow ISO I managed to capture only the head lights of the car. I like how sharp the line turned out to be since it was hard trying to keep the camera steady so it wouldn’t shake the camera making it blurry. Overall I think this picture has a kind of cold feel to it, which I don’t normally do so I hope to practice this more so I can get better at it.

Pretzels Really Do Grow on Trees

I went to Leavenworth with my family this past thanksgiving weekend and I kept walking past this pastry shop that had a tree on display outside. The tree caught my attention because there were actual soft (well…once soft) pretzels hanging from the limbs. Later that night I went to take pictures of the town when I walked past that same tree. I thought it would be a silly picture, but all the shots I took I actually liked. I used a tripod and had the shutter speed down to one second because I didn’t want the lights on the tree to be too bright. Then I just lightened the picture up a bit to make the pretzels look more yummy.

The Rush

I really like this photo. I took it on a overpass down town. I like how there is a lot of color from the cars on both sides. I think I could have been more in the middle of both lanes but it was late and I had to get home.

Mans Best Friend

By: Rachel W.
I took this picture of my boss’s dog one day. I like it because of the coloring and the way it looks like she’s smiling. All I did was photo shop my boss’s feet out because she was right there.

The Color Purple

For the month of November we were assigned to take night time photos. These purple lights are aligning my front yard. I really like this shot for the depth of field. From where the lights begin is where I wanted the main focus to be when you first take a look at this.

Christmas LIGHTS!

By: Claudia M.
I took this photograph while I was in the neighborhood trying to find something to take a picture of. Plus it gives it the holiday spirit. I like how the bright colors really stand out against the dark night. Also, I like that the middle Christmas light is the one in focus while the others are not it just makes it that much more interesting to look at.

ホットドッグ

By:Alex L.
This is a photo I took walking around town. I liked the sky at the time, so I ended up taking a picture of this stoplight. I was getting ready for the rainy season. The weather was perfect, the air smelled of candy, and I just felt like this was the moment to take a picture. I didn’t photoshop this picture much. I did slightly to brighten it though, but even then, not much.

Solitary

I took this picture of a little flower out in my yard. I liked the water that had condensed on it- I thought that would add interest to the shot. I like how the flower commands the attention of the picture, and is the only thing you focus on. The flower was bright pink originally, but I made it black and white to make the picture kind of lonely feeling, since the flower is all alone. I hope you like it!

Rachel has no title

I took this picture outside my friend’s house when we were doing an assignment for our class. I really liked how the picture turned out but I thought it looked better adjusting the brightness and contrast of the photo.

Title: need a title

Some friends and I went to the new target to skate so I brought my camera along and got a few good shots. I like the way the sun is hitting the parking lot and the cars. It also makes the trees seem like they are on fire.
